Christian Faith Colliding with Real Life

The writer, Hona Amer, fast-tracked through college in 2½ years and graduated with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Evangel University at age 20. She graduated with her M.B.A. from Missouri State University the same month she turned 22. Today, she enjoys assisting students as they navigate the University experience.  Hona released her first book, Smart Work U, in August 2011.  She is a business owner, marketer, professor, writer, and lover of life.  She is the founder of The H Group, a marketing and consulting company.  Check it out at

Her love for thinking sets her apart. She is always reading and writing, exploring new insights about God, people, and business.

Her most popular series, Monday Morning Coffee with Hona, encourages readers with a weekly devotional.  People frequently ask her how it started.  It all started when she had a friend who hated going to work on Monday.  She realized that it was more than 1 person; lots of people struggle with going to work on Monday.  Then, she asked herself a question.  What could she do to change people mourning over Monday?  Monday Morning Coffee with Hona was the result.

When asked her thoughts about MMC, she said, “I want people to look forward to Mondays.  Whether it shows up in their email or on the blog, I want people to be excited about the new week and all God has for them.  More than anything, I want people to be encouraged to love God and be a light to the world.”
